A Lengthy Discussion on Something
Howdy~! This is my new blog which shall be entirely dedicated to bull**** and grumblings about the world beyond unlike the previous 1 which was a little... juz a little... p & c =)
So yupz... here begins my first post and bulling session... got the inspiration but juz a while ago... must get it out...
A certain thesaurus i happen to be a proud owner of defines the word fate as 1. Power thought to control all events and 2. person's destiny... Variations are given as chance, destiny, fortune, kismet, luck, destiny again and lot... Erm... well... r those really variations or r the writers of this small little thing juz trying to extend page count to increase the perceived value? wadever the case, i'm now totally enlightened (which doesn't mean that i wasn't before but i'm more now as u can c from the above sentence how that has helped me to explore the depths of my mind to a deeper degree and hence exhausting more brain cells in the comprehension of....... something...)
Fate is and had always been a favourite word to explain all sorts of stuff...
Example 1.1:
Loverboy tells Lovergirl: 'We're FATED to be together'
Example 1.2:
Consoler tells sobbing mother of soldier who juz died in a war: 'This is FATE'
Example 1.3:
A person who juz missed the grand prize of a 10 million bucks lottery by 1 no. : 'I hate FATE'
c... everything is fate... juz as we r fated to be borned into this world, we r fated to make the life choices we make... there r a thousand million trillion infinitillion no. of permutations by which we can or may lead our lives... let's say at a certain time on a certain day in a certain year i'm supposed to go home from sch... (indeed, the no. of choices we made to finally arrive at the certain place at that specific point of time can never be computed but we shan't go into that for now...) I can take route A, B or C to go home by... I expect to reach home whichever route i take but whether that expectation can be met is another issue... If i go by say route A, i may encounter some misfortune and never make it back home or on a more optimistic note, i may meet a fren on the way and decide to go for coffee with him/her resulting in a lengthy chat at the cafe before i finally drag myself home... the no. of events that occurred and conversation transpired during that period may be enuff to change my opinion of sth and/or a decision... and by reaching home late, i may have missed a particularly good episode of a sitcom which would have left me laughing for weeks... my life is continuously changing and life expectations r never an insurance of reality...
When we meet the guy/girl of our dreams or a particularly supportive group of frens, we'd often like to sit down and think about the miraculous force of fate... We'll reminisce, we'll smile and then we'll be thankful for the blessings we've received... 'It's all fated,' we'll say... But how often do we sit down and think the same for our enemies? 'Oh this son of a ***** stole my idea and presented it to the boss! **** him!' Well... that's almost always the first thought... We dun think 'Hey, it's fate man... this guy's fated to be my enemy... let me rejoice in this wonder of fate!' Indeed, it's fate... but a fate that we'll rather not encounter...
In this little island alone, we have 4 million ppl... and the fate that one has with a stranger on a public bus is probably stronger than the moon's pull on the earth... Juz wad is the probability of being in the same universe, on the same planet, in the same country, on the same bus at the same time? If this isn't a lot of fate, i dunno wad is... Conversely, some ppl may be in the same sch for a good 4 yrs but they have never met each other in their entire lives... go figure...
I do not profess to be an idealist... I do not go 'Hey we're fated to meet!' to everyone i see... I'll be branded as a lunatic and shipped pronto to the middle of nowhere (commonly known as the mad ppl's hospital)... but on the other hand, let's not be too cynical when we run into unhappy events or meet less than pleasant ppl... the encounter or acquaintance may not be a joyous event but let us be thankful that at least we're not left to our own devices... Someone somewhere is guiding our life in a most miraculous way that we can't even begin to imagine...
