Operation Domestique
*burp*
Just had dinner... A fine dinner it was... of course it's fine! I COOKED IT! FROM SCRATCH!
woke up in the morning to a quiet house... aunt cook, the dad and other assorted aunties went on yet another trip to genting (read: retirees relaxation period cum ka ching session)...
sis's not at home too! that leaves me and my dear old mum... so wad's the problem?
the problem is............. my dear mum can't cook! no... not even a decent bowl of instant noodles... maybe juz a pot of boiling water... but nono... not noodles...
so that leaves me as the only cook in the family... dun get me wrong... i dun c anything wrong in whipping up a nice dinner for my mum... *playing hey ya in the background... ok out of point*
the thing is... i dun understand y my mum can't even cook instant noodles... shouldn't all mums be able to cook? ok who can't cook? but we're talking bout edible food here... i remember the one and only time i tasted my mum's cooking... one bite was enough to make me full... no not because i ate a carbo-bomb... but because i simply had no appetite left in my up-turned stomach to take a second bite... to top the ridiculous picture, my mum can't cut fruits in nice symmetrical lines too... oh the horrible sight of the fruits! beholding their pathetic state one evening when i opened the fridge, i thought someone in the house was too lazy to cut the fruits and simply smashed them on the floor... but it's the mum again... sigh... she's really great at other domestic stuff... but when it comes to food - no no... no no no no no...
yupz... so i went from apprentice to boss in the kitchen... noodles + prawns + vegetables + eggs... yum yum... not trying to promote my culinary skills but then again, my instant noodles r really quite sought after... dun pray pray! better than r.o.n.a.l.d s.u.s.i.l.o's i think... =)

Cooking is fun!!!!!
satisfying experience, esp if its something like fried carrot cake or minced meat porridge, a rarity over here to say the least.
