Valentine's Day (Eve)
It's the season for love again! Or rather, it's the season when girls wait eagerly for gifts and flowers to be showered upon them by member(s) of the opposite sex and guys curse and swear at retailers who slash everything from throats to pockets except prices... Happy Valentine's Day =)
Well since my valentine is thousandsssssss of miles away, my celebration for Valentine's Day 2006 consists of conversing with my valentine on skype and msn... Oh and waiting for the gift arriving from far far away =) It's just another normal day really... Ok maybe a little abnormal coz I have to study for a quiz the next morning... Don't lecturers celebrate valentine's day?! Argh
And to make up for the lack of happening-ness tmr, I have a mini-happening day today...
I went for a health check-up in the morning! Thought the school would provide it free for students but nah... gotta pay a small fee... But I thought it was pretty worth it... At least the service was good... The check-up lasted less than half an hour, including waiting time, and so I joined my aunt for grocery shopping at ntuc and breakfast at the foodcourt above... Haven't been up and about so early in the morning for quite some time... Feels good to eat breakfast out of a bowl rather than a packet for a change =)
And later in the evening, I'll be going for Corrinne May's concert at UCC! Went for her performance at the esplanade last year with xiang... Her vocals and life performance are really good... Looking forward to tonight! The only bad thing is, I'll probably be so bright tonight that the blind can see me... Shall just mind my own business and let the couple I'm going with enjoy their Valentine's Day (Eve)... Haha!
Ok this is really turning into a 'what have I done today' entry... Well hehe... Just to chronicle an interesting day... Once again, Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Speaking of which, I heard on radio this morning that there's a florist having a 1 for 1 promotion for roses... Means for example if you buy a bouquet of 12 roses, you get ANOTHER bouquet of 12 roses... Which is just weird... Why can't they wrap it up in the same bouquet? Imagine you give your sweetheart a bouquet of roses and while she is still fawning over it, you pop out another bouquet from behind you and say 'na! This 1 free 1!'

Ed's note: xiang said buy 1 get 1 free means a) can give the free 1 to another girl or b) can share the cost with a guy friend who's giving the other 1 to his own girlfriend... Hmm... i think whichever way it's done, the guy will either sound like a jerk or a cheapskate... Conclusion: it's a dumb promotion =p
