1 Long Weekend and 4 Blistering toes
I love walking in the woods and describe myself as a hiking enthusiast. But over the long weekend, I learnt that a walk in the woods is very different from trekking up a mountain. Mount Tallac, the tallest mountain rising from the shore of Lake Tahoe, is both a beauty itself and offers a beautiful lookout to the lands/lakes beyond. The trail rises from about 6000ft to 9735 feet and spans 4.6miles 1 way. I made it up about 95% of it until my feet told me to stop and turn back (I know, very wasted. The last cliff was just too much for my beaten feet =( )
With that being said, we did manage to get a few picture perfect moments from the parts where we left our treks on. Here are some pictures which are dying to speak for themselves:

Cathedral Lake

Cathedral Lake again

A side of the cliff face

Another side of the cliff face

Behold the view beyond from 75% way up! And us =p

Say Cheese!

Mount Tallac from the mid-deck of Heavenly Gondola

Us again!
Nice holiday that was! Except for 4 blistering and bled toes and still aching thigh muscles... I'm quite disappointed that I didn't make it to the summit of Mount Tallac but I'll be back!!! With boots, hiking poles and most importantly, greater confidence.
Next up, Half Dome!
Stay tuned to find out if I make it up =p
