Infested with Chic Flicks
WHY r cinemas always infested with chic flicks? i mean come on... show us some quality film manz! the plot's usually some fantasy love story which is so unreal... and they're almost always box office hits... i mean what the?! perhaps our increasingly sedentary lives have led us to more and more ridiculous fantasies about our love lives... wellz... maybe i'm being too cynical... chic flicks cannot be discredited for their entertainment value... but entertainment comes with a price... no way am i gonna spend at least $6.50 on a chic flick... not that i'm a big fan of arty farty shows and action packed movies either... that's another issue which i shall not touch on...
and no... dun be mistaken... i'm not some detractor of romance stories... in fact many stories wouldn't be complete without a tinge of romance... however, i expect to get some msg about life and love after paying for a 2 hrs standstill of my life... to all my frenz who r great fans of chic flicks, pls do not take offence... this is purely a personal opinion not intended to be imposed upon anyone... i'm juz disturbed by the trend in box office preferences... but wad is the box office without the ppl who bought the tickets? so yeah... wadever the moviegoers want, the ppl at H.W. produce... guess that juz means i can save more money... =)
